Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Callibrate your Wacom tutorialHad you finally made the transition from intuos 3 to intuos 4?, or Are you rich to change into an intuos 5? Had you made the transition from a first generation cintiq to the new ones?. More levels of pressure will mean more quality to the paintings, am i right?.
Did you thought that by default the pen will it be like using butter on bread?, you try it for the first time and you love all of it, you said i have sooooooo much control on my strokes im having a blast. Then only to realize you only have total control of the brush but when you are moving it really slow?. But when you do quick strokes the pressure drops a lot of paint making you redraw tons of stuff?
Did you ever thought that painter its hard to handle with new tablet? Too much pressure? If it has more pressure why i cant control more easier the beggining of the stroke which is more crucial?.

Well, my first SupaNova was fantastic. I ran into a few people from school, and made up with a previous enemy.

On the way, the car nearly broke down D: Luckily a nice guy stepped in to fix it, and my family were on their way. When we got there the line moved pretty quickly, but the guy at the door tried to read out the Al Bhed on my sign and failed epically.

The moment I saw a Reno cosplayer I asked for a hug and a photo, and got what I wanted. I did manage to snap pics of a Demyx cosplayer and a girl in an adorable moogle kigurumi, but was too scared to approach a Cid Highwind cosplayer (in case he started yelling insults at me, haha) I actually had to remind the moogle girl to say 'kupo' (it bugs me when cosplayers aren't in character, so I have to encourage them, lol)

I also met

there, and they're much awesomer than those other girls from Canberra.

My costume reeked of old closets but it was so worth it. I was the goth girl with the purple bag just in case anyone's wondering

I saw him and was like '...whoa, better not say anything or he'll swear at me.' XDDDDD SupaNova was my first non-Animania con. Animania's pretty good though, the Technology Park in Sydney is a fantastic place if you're cosplaying an Al Bhed and want to pose in front of some old Machina XD
